Thermal Analysis: DMA |
The simultaneous thermal analysis serves the measurement of changes of mass and temperature (G and T) of a sample in function of the temperature (T).
The particular feature with the STA503 is the side weighing system. This construction reveals its mayor advantage with tests under dynamic gas atmosphere. The balances has a very high sensitivity and a stable behaviour by dynamic gas load. The sample room has a homogeneous temperature profile and a very small volume of 40cm3 . Thus the gas exchange can be conducted very fast. This causes a high gas concentration and is optimally suited for further analyses with a FTIR or MS. The flat metallic DSC sensor guarantees a good heat transfer to the sample crucible. It shows a high sensitivity thus enabling an exact determination of enthalphys, specific heat and transformation points.
The bifilar-coil furnaces in the temperature range of -160°C - 700°C and 20°C - 1500°C are designed for heating rates of max. 100K/min. A high sample throughput is gained with a cooling rate of 15 min (1500°C to 100°C).
The entire electronics operates digitally and with an own processor system to control and regulate the furnace, the measuring data recording, the gas supply, the vacuum unit and the safety devices.
The professional 32-Bit software WinTA 9.0 runs under Windows®98, ME, 2000, NT4.0, XP. An extensive software accurately and efficiently deals with both routine tasks and comprehensive evaluations. Export functions as tables in ASCII and Excel format as well as a graphic file output in the formats BMP, JPG, TIF, EMF etc. enable a cross-platform work.
