(ADSA)The American Dairy Science Association (ADSA) is an international
organization of educators, scientists and industrialists who are
committed to advancing the dairy industry. They are keenly aware of the
vital role the dairy sciences play in fulfilling the economic,
nutritive and health requirements of the world's population. Together,
ADSA members have discovered new methods and technologies that have
revolutionized the dairy industry.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the American Dairy Science Association,
see 2003 Membership Application and 2003
Institution Application.
Looking BackADSA was founded in 1906 as The National
Association of Dairy Instructors and Investigators by teachers and
researchers from the University of Illinois. Soon it was clear that
Association activities would serve the interests of everyone concerned
with advances in the dairy sciences—professionals working in industry,
governmental agencies, extensions, and institutions of higher
education. To reflect this broader community of interests, the present
name was adopted in 1911.
ADSA TodayADSA has grown to serve more than 5,200 members and
subscribers from 66 countries. But its objectives, which are enumerated
in the ADSA constitution, have not changed in more than 80 years.
Objectives of ADSA
- To stimulate the discovery, application, and dissemination of knowledge
- To create an atmosphere in which various segments of the dairy industries freely exchange knowledge
- To recognize outstanding personal achievement
- To publish original research, reviews and timely information in the official ADSA publication, the Journal of Dairy Science
- To sponsor programs for challenging and developing youth for leadership responsibilities
Something for EveryoneADSA functions as a clearinghouse for
vital information while also serving as an open forum where a full
range of views on critical scientific questions may be addressed. If
you have a serious interest in any of the following disciplines and
activities, as they relate to the dairy industry, then you should take
full advantage of the information and networking opportunities
