2009/9

Dear Subscriber !

Welcome to the September issue of EVISA's Speciation Newsletter.

Today we celebrate the sixth year of operation of our web server. With the exception of a few hours (due to a dead ventilator) our server was up and running. Google knows about 14,000 pages on our server providing current valuable  information and linking to thousands of internal and external pages. With a ranking of 6/10 EVISA's web portal at www.speciation.net is truly the  primary information source in this area and more than 40,000 visitors make use of its service each month.  With all our cross-linking, glossarization, categorization and other features of our database system, such as our advanced search engine valuable information is only a few clicks ahead.

However, the best way to be informed about new trends in speciation science is to have direct contact with the scientists working in the field.  A good opportunity to get actual information about speciation analysis will be the workshop TraceSpec 2009, one of the few events focused on speciation analysis. Organized by EVISA, the University of Mainz and IAEAC, this event  starting today in Mainz unifies the experts in the field of speciation analysis, researchers from different fields using speciation analysis and legislators and other interested participants.  An attractive program consisting of plenary lectures, contributed presentations, posters and an exhibition will provide an overview about the state-of-the-art. EVISA will be present as a co-organizer and with a stand. Do not hesitate to visit us! If you cannot make it this time, mark already the Metallomics 2011 as an important meeting for the speciation community.

NEWS

EVISA is keeping you updated  with what is going on in speciation analysis. In this section you will find news about the most current research results, about trends, legal issues and informations from manufacturers in the field of speciation analysis.

With all the links to further information and publications the News archive is a valuable collection of "hot topics" in speciation analysis. We continuously update even former news with new links and information so that all news are actual all the time.

Speciation Analysis - Striving for Quality
Concepts for assuring the quality of analytical measurements such as GLP and QA/QC are well established if not integral part of modern state-of-the-art methods for trace element analysis. Wheresoever possible, these concepts should also be applied for the more complex speciation analysis in order to create valuable data.
