The ISEAC series began in 1971 promoted by the International Association of Environmental Analytical Chemistry (IAEAC) with a scientific meeting organized to provide a forum on how analytical chemists might contribute to the recent “environmental revolution”. After a series of successful conferences, in 2014 Food Analytics were integrated in ISEAC because of common challenges and analytical approaches, and as to provide a more comprehensive and interdisciplinary perspective.
The ISEAC 40th edition jubilee will take place in Santiago de Compostela, a historical city in Galicia (NW Spain) worldwide known by its pilgrimage way. Both the historical centre and the pilgrimage routes have obtained the UNESCO World Heritage recogni-tion.
The University of Santiago de Compostela will host ISEAC-40 aiming to provide a forum for exchange of scientific knowledge in all fields of environmental and food analysis, with invited speakers, but at the same time providing multiple slots for lectures from young and regular participants, poster sessions and an exhibition.
