2006/07
Dear Reader !

Welcome to the July issue of the Speciation Newsletter provided by the European Virtual Institute for Speciation Analysis (EVISA).

There are only two weeks left in this month which is traditionlly a holiday month with reduced activities with respect to international meetings before the conference season re-starts in August. One of the biggest event will certainly be the conference on "Mercury as the global pollutant". Mercury speciation and speciation analysis will probably be a dominant part of that conference. Mercury is a hot topic, especially in the USA, where a controversial discussion about the best way to reduce mercury emission is going on now for more than a year (EVISA has reported about that in his News section).

Speciation analysis is recognized to be of vital interest not only in the case of mercury but also for other environmental topics. This can clearly be seen also in the National Environmental Monitoring Conference (NEMC 2006) the only event in the US co-organized by US EPA. This year NEMC  will have speciation sessions over 1.5 days (EVISA's Director Michael Sperling is invited to take part in that session with a presentation).

NEWS

EVISA is keeping you updated  with what is going on in speciation analysis. In this section you will find news about the most current research results, about trends, legal issues and informations from manufacturers in the field of speciation analysis.

With all the links to further information and publications the News archive is a valuable collection of "hot topics" in speciation analysis. We continuously update even "old" news with new links.

DIRECTORY

EVISA's directory of scientist is a versatile tool to facilitate contact with scientists in the field of speciation and related sciences. The directory is fully searchable for names, addresses, research topics etc.  You should bookmark this directory as an always up-to-date address book. (In order to hinder SPAM robots for collecting the E-mail accounts, we hide them in a special format).

More than 225 active scientists in the field of speciation analysis already joined the directory. Join this great directory that is extensively linked to all tye of other information on this site, such as homepages, conferences and literature.

If your entry is still missing in this directory, please contact us at info@speciation.net.
