Dear Subscriber !
Welcome to the December issue of the Speciation
Newsletter provided by the European
Virtual Institute for Speciation Analysis (EVISA).
Two
years serving you with the EVISA Speciation Newsletter and three years of
operating the EVISA web site, this is a good reason to proudly look
back for a short moment. We tried to keep you updated with about one
News per week about all different aspects of speciation analysis
(science, legislation, politics) providing extensive cross-links to
further information on our site or to external sites.
We
are very proud that we accomplished what has been promised: we more than quadrupled the number of pages available on our server for your information during this year from about 2000 to actually more than 9000 pages. The response from the steadily growing user community is overwhelmingly positive. Many thanks to all of you who have send encouraging words, comments or constructive criticism. We highly appreciate all your feedback! The next step in the development of our services will be even bigger than that accomplished during this year. We plan to raise the content of the server by an order of magnitude by launching the EVISA publication datbase! The finally completed database system on Instruments, Components, Materials, Journals,
Publications and the related Producers, Manufacturers, Publishers and Scientists
will be a formidable search tool accessible by all registered users. (If you have not yet
registered as a user, this should be a good reason to do it now !
Another good reason - registration is still free during the launch phase !)
We hope that our Speciation Newsletter is of some
interest for you. If you have comments, suggestions for new topics or criticism, please feel free to contact us at info@speciation.net or via our contact form available from our homepage.

NEWS
|
|
|
EVISA is keeping you updated with what is going on in speciation analysis. In this section you will find news about the most current research results, about trends, legal issues and informations from manufacturers in the field of speciation analysis.
With all the links to further information and publications the News archive is a valuable collection of "hot topics" in speciation analysis. We continuously update even former news with new links and information so that all news are actual all the time.
Two years Speciation Newsletter - Three years of EVISA web site operation - Accomplishments and Future Perspectives
EVISA started to publish a regular monthly Speciation Newsletter in December 2004. Since then a continuously growing group of registered subscribers has benefited from our free service, providing weekly news on all aspects of speciation analysis, events and vacant positions.

Speciation matters even if the interest is in total element concentration
Often we hear the argument that people stay away from speciation analysis because the chemistry involved is so complex. However, chemistry is as it is and does not change just because of your interest. Sometimes speciation matters even if the interest is in total element concentration only.

Metal species and Alzheimer disease
In a special issue of the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease, guest editors Andrei C. Miu and Oana Benga have gathered 14 insightful articles that explore the roles that metal species play in Alzheimer’s Disease.

EVISA provides information about open positions for Ph.D. students, PostDocs and permanent staff in the field of speciation. Looking to fill a vacancy or needing a new career challenge? Either way this service is FREE. Many laboratories and research facilities (from Greenland to Crete) have already found their highly educated stuff through this service by EVISA. If you would like to post an open position here, please contact us at info@speciation.net !

DIRECTORY
|
|
|
EVISA's directory of scientist is a versatile tool to facilitate contact with scientists in the field of speciation and related sciences. The directory is fully searchable for names, addresses, research topics etc. You should bookmark this directory as an always up-to-date address book. (In order to hinder SPAM robots for collecting the E-mail accounts, we hide them in a special format).
More than 230 active scientists in the field of speciation analysis already joined the directory. Join this great directory that is extensively linked to all tye of other information on this site, such as homepages, conferences and literature.
If your entry is still missing in this directory, please contact us at info@speciation.net.
