Welcome to the July issue of EVISA's Speciation Newsletter !
Today we would like to report about our user community. EVISA's web portal at www.speciation.net is now on-line without interruption for 17 years. Few weeks ago we welcomed the 13th millionth user visiting our web site. We had about 1.5 million visitors during the year 2018, each of them consulting about 10 pages of speciation related information. Without doubt, the Virtual Institute for Speciation Analysis is the primary information source for all those interested in trace element and speciation analysis (see the news below).
We wish all our users a pleasant and relaxing vacation. Upcoming events related to trace elements and their species are coming in August (see below).

A PhD thesis position is available at the research team Physical Chemistry of Surfaces and Interfaces, Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Continental Environments (LIEC, UMR 7360 CNRS‐Université de Lorraine, Vandoeuvre‐lès‐Nancy, France). The PhD project entitled 'Bacterial biosensors for trace metal detection: measurement and rationale of metal species speciation and toxicity via bacterial bioluminescence' concerns the measurement and interpretation of bioluminescence signal produced by metal-detecting whole cell sensors in relation to extracellular metal speciation and bioavailability processes.
