The STA 409 PC Luxx® is the workhorse for simultaneous thermogravimetric and calorimetric analyses from room temperature into the high temperature range of 1650°C. The vertical design with top-loaded samples ensures total protection of the balance, which is on the bottom, through accurate flow of the purge and protective gases in a natural vertical path to the top, with optimal conditions for coupling FTIR and MS gas analysis systems to the heated furnace outlet. The TG, TG-DTA and TG-DSC sample carriers are always equipped with a thermocouple for direct measurement of the temperature at the sample/reference crucible (DTA, DSC). The high capacity of the balance along with constant resolution over the entire weighing range provide the best conditions for using the wide variety of ceramic or metallic sample crucibles and pans in different shapes and sizes. Of course, vacuum-tight construction providing for pure atmospheres goes without saying.
The STA 409 PC Luxx® is designed for simultaneous TG-DSC or simultaneous TG-DTA measurements. The TG sample carriers can be exchanged with TG-DSC or TG-DTA sample carriers in a matter of seconds. The STA 409 PG Luxx® is a special version with the universal TASC 414/4 data aquisition system for use with the low-temperature furnace (-120°C to 675°C) and the maximum-temperature furnace (to 1650°C) as well as for a cost-effective extension of existing instruments, which can be operated with the same TASC.
The STA 409 PC/PG Luxx® is one of the most versatile STA systems for routine use in material research and development as well as in quality assurance – primarily in the area of inorganics.
