The Mycological Society of America is a scientific society dedicated to advancing the science of mycology - the study of fungi of all kinds including mushrooms, molds, truffles, yeasts, lichens, plant pathogens, and medically important fungi.
We have about 1200 members, including professional and amateur mycologists with interests covering the entire range of scientific disciplines in such general categories as ecology-pathology, systematics-evolution, genetics-molecular biology, and physiology. We welcome international members. Members receive a subscription to the official journal of the MSA , Mycologia (includes free electronic access), reporting current mycological research, and our Society newsletter, Inoculum, both published six times a year. Awards bestowed by the Society to members include support for scholarly research, four graduate fellowships for Ph.D. students, and student travel awards for attendance at our annual meeting.
