Since 1981, LT Industries has been known consistently as an innovator and customizer of Near Infrared (NIR) analyzers. Its over 1000-system worldwide installed base is evenly divided between in-line process and at-line (or stand-alone) analyzers. Early in its history, the company gained the confidence of 3M Corporation, which commissioned LT Industries to design and build a variety of unique process-adapted analysis systems. Today, LTI continues to supply its markets with individual analyzers. The development of its comprehensive PetroScan™ gasoline refining and blending monitors has led Texaco Corporation to appoint LTI as its preferred vendor for NIR fuel production monitoring systems.
LTI has always built elegantly simple, rugged NIR scanners. These instruments have extended MTBF ratings because they are designed with specifications in excess of duty demands. The company’s patent estate and industry-recognized awards reflect its capabilities.
The application of its NIR systems is the overriding factor in LTI’s good reputation, however. LTI designs and produces sampling probes -- often fiber optic fed -- which exactly match the specific application. In the course of this policy, the company has earned numerous patents for advances in optical interfaces with chemical samples -- often in exceedingly hostile environments.
NIR spectroscopy is a computer-intensive technique: computers drive the instruments, control the sampling and most especially calculate the statistical values which make the technique work. The software area is the other high point in LTI’s reputation. The company has consistently developed application-related user interfaces which "tailor" the program to the specific operating and reporting needs of the end user.
All of these factors coincide to justify LTI’s slogan: "Near Infrared Technology at Work". At LTI, the emphasis is on good work!
