The Italian Society for Experimental Biology (Società Italiana di Biologia Sperimentale - SIBS), is a scientific association among Scientists attending to the Experimental Biology. The Society, that was founded in Napoli in 1925, is multidisciplinary and is organized in local Sections that refer to several Italian Universities. The Society has its seat in Napoli by the General Secretariat, that to date is located in via S. Pansini 5 (Department of Neurosciences, Section of Physiology, University of Napoli “Federico II”).
The SIBS is a non-profit society and, according to its regulation, has the aim to favour the fast spreading of experimental results obtained by Italian Scientists, as well as to promote the exchange of information, at both national and international level, between the researchers involved in Experimental Biology studies.
The activity of SIBS is realized through periodic meetings organized by the local Sections. Scientific works are presented and discussed during the meetings; after acceptance by the local Section President and after the judgment of at least two reviewers the papers will be published on Journal of Biological Research – Bollettino della Società Italiana di Biologia Sperimentale (ISSN 1826-8838).
All Scientists who work in the field of the Experimental Biology can be eligible for membership of SIBS.
