Description
FEMS Microbiology Reviews publishes comprehensive reviews dealing with key areas in microbiology, of current and future interest.
Reviews provide either critical or authoritative coverage of a topic or may be of a more speculative nature. So far as possible, articles should be addressed to both specialists and the general reader.
The journal occasionally publishes thematic issues focused on subjects of major interest.
Topics include: - Basic and applied microbiology studies covering the diversity of the microbial world
- The fundamental biology of microorganisms, including physiology, genetics, molecular biology and their interrelations
- System microbiology including genomic and proteomic approaches
- Microbial phylogeny and evolution
- Microbial pathogenicity in humans, animals and plants; characterization of microbial-host interactions
- Technological or conceptual developments opening new basic and applied perspectives in microbiology
- Historical reflections on important subjects in microbiology
