Description
The journal provides a medium for rapid publication of investigations of the molecular biology and biochemistry of parasitic protozoa and helminths, and their interactions with both the definitive and intermediate host. The main subject areas covered are: (1.) the chemical structure, biosynthesis, degradation, properties and function of DNA, RNA, proteins, lipids, carbohydrates and small molecular-weight substances, (2.) intermediary metabolism and bioenergetics, (3.) molecular and biochemical studies on the mode of action of antiparasitic drugs, (4.) molecular and biochemical aspects of membrane structure and function, (5.) molecular and biochemical aspects of host parasite relationships including analysis of parasitic escape mechanisms, (6.) characterisation of parasite antigens and of parasite and host cell surface receptors, (7.) analysis of gene structure, function and expression, and (8.) mechanism of genetic recombination.
