Thermal Analysis: DMA |
The PerkinElmer Diamond Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA) provides a wealth of information on mechanical properties such as modulus, energy dissipation and material stability. It analyzes a wide variety of polymers, polymer blends, elastomers and composites. It also has application in foods, pharmaceuticals, electronics, coatings, high performance aerospace materials, and various inorganic materials.
The DMA determines material characteristics such as glass transition, dampening intensity, heat resistance, creep and stress relaxation allowing complete characterization of processed materials. This instrument can be used to evaluate the compatibility of anisotropy, vibration absorbency, molecular weight, degree of crystallinity and degree of orientation of polymeric and various materials.
Key capabilities
- Both static and dynamic viscoelasticity measurements can be measured on the same system, allowing you to perform creep and stress relaxation measurements in addition to dynamic testing
- Performs measurements ranging from single fibers and thin films to plastic tensile test bars and aerospace composites
- Synthetic oscillation mode simultaneously measures multiple frequencies at an extremely fast cycle, which is useful for samples like rubber
- The system corrects for sample length changes caused by creep or thermal expansion using the patented thermal expansion correction function, providing accurate and reproducible data
- Utilizes a Fourier transform method to provide noise-free analysis for unsurpassed sensitivity
