The Model 343 Polarimeter is a single wavelength Polarimeter using the important Na spectral line at 589 nm. It provides a cost-effective solution to many routine applications.
The Model 343 Polarimeter uses the proven optical null principle with automatic rotation of the analyzer, which has been the basis of PerkinElmer's reputation for excellence in polarimetry. This principle is combined with state-of-the-art microprocessor electronics to produce an instrument offering the highest possible accuracy and precision with simple operation and handling.
Specifications: Automatic precision polarimeter for measurements at the 589 nm (NaD) spectral line. Optical null system with automatic rotation of the analyzer, range of rotation +/- 85°. Internal angular resolution: 0.0001°. Display of results in angular degrees, as specific or molar rotation, or in °Z of the International Sugar Scale and with user defined factors. Automatic gain control, digital signal averaging with 10 selectable integration periods. Menu-oriented user interaction via integrated touch keys, multilingual. Built-in sodium lamp and filter. Two selectable aperture stops for standard cells and microcells. High quality film polarizer. Microprocessor electronics. The instrument includes a parallel and a serial port (Centronics and RS-232C) for the connection of printers and data systems, an interface for a PC/AT keyboard and a barcode reader, and an analog output for chart recorders (four recording ranges). GLP compliant report. Additionally, the instrument provides inputs and outputs for hardware control signals.
