Spectrometer ( Atom. ): AAS: General |
The Model 4110 ZL Atomic Absorption Spectrometer is a totally automated system for Zeeman effect graphite furnace AAS with full computer control of all components - spectrometer, Zeeman furnace, autosampler and optional accessories. The compact benchtop AA instrument includes spectrometer, furnace power supply, Zeeman effect background corrector and electronics in a single unit for minimum space requirement. A THGA (Transversely Heated Graphite Atomizer) with an integrated L'vov platform provides uniform heating over the entire tube length. The longitudinal Zeeman effect (magnetic field parallel to the optical light beam) background corrector eliminates the need for a polarizer resulting in higher signal-to-noise ratios. The high light throughput optical system with a dual-blazed grating Littrow monochromator is designed for optimized performance over the entire wavelength range. The combination of its exceptional optical system and a wide range A/D converter allows total absorbance measurements up to 3A. All instrumental and data handling parameters, including wavelength, slit and lamp current are PC controlled. A motorized 4-lamp turret is standard as well as built-in computer controlled power supplies for four EDL System 2 or hollow cathode lamps. The THGA furnace, autosampler and other accessories are controlled via an industry standard person computer (PC) using PerkinElmer AA WinLab software running under the Microsoft Windows NT operating environment.
Method files and analytical data may be stored on hard disk for later recall and use. Graphical data may also be stored and recalled for later manipulation, including replotting, scaling and factoring. The AA WinLab software also includes on- line, context-sensitive HELP and it includes automatic quality control features such as check samples with user-specified tolerance ranges and courses of action if the results are outside the allowable ranges. AA WinLab software allows data files to be transferred to other Windows-based software providing advanced, customized report generation capabilities. Both alphanumeric and graphical data may be printed with an optional printer, which is required but not supplied, for hard copy printout. An AS-72 autosampler is included with the Model 4110 ZL. Removable sample trays are provided with 80 or 40 sampling positions of sample and reference solutions. Dispensable sample and reagent volumes are variable from 1 to 99 uL.
