Sample preparation for XRF The manual hydraulic Tablet Press PP 25 is a compact laboratory instrument with particularly simple and safe operation. Its maximum pressure of 25 tons makes it well suited for the preparation of solid samples for X-ray fluorescence analysis. The pellets produced are of extremely good quality and are characterized by their high degree of stability.
Advantages
- simple and safe operation
- pellets of high quality and stability
- accessories for all relevant applications
The manual hydraulic Tablet Press PP 25 is a compact laboratory instrument for the preparation of solid samples for X-ray fluorescence analysis.
Two different sizes of die are available for the Pellet Press PP 25. With their diameters of 32 and 40 mm these are the most common sizes used for the preparation of pellets for X-ray fluorescence spectrometry. The dies are made from hardened stainless steel and can be evacuated completely. Each die consists of a base plate and a die housing with hollow inner cylinder as well as two pressure plates polished on one side, a press die and seals. The pressure plates and die are located in the inner cylinder. The sample is placed between the polished pressure plates. A hydraulic press is then used to apply the necessary pressure to the sample via the die, which projects slightly from the die housing. The piston pressure can be read off from the clearly visible manometer scale. When a pressure of 25 tons is indicated the press exerts a pressure of 195 N/mm2 on a 40 mm die and no less than 305 N/mm2 on a 32 mm die.
