Thermal Analysis: TGA |
The thermal balance serves the measurement of a change in mass (G) of a sample in function of the temperature (T).
The particular feature of the TGA 503 is the laterally positioned weighing system. This position shows its main advantage with tests under dynamic gas atmosphere. The balance has a very high sensitivity and a stable behaviour by dynamic gas load. The sample room shows a homogeneous temperature profile and with 40cm3 its volume is very small. Thus it enables a quick gas exchange causing a high gas concentration, optimal for further analyses with a FTIR or MS. The temperature is measured by the thermocouple that is positioned below the sample crucible.
The bifilar-coil furnaces in the temperature range of -160°C - 700°C and 20°C - 1500°C are designed for heating rates of max. 100K/min. The cooling time of 15 min (1500°C to 100°C) produces a high sample throughput.
The entire electronics operates digitally and with an own processor system to control and regulate the furnace, the measuring data recording, the gas supply, the vacuum unit and the safety devices.
The professional 32-Bit software WinTA 9.0 runs under Windows®98, ME, 2000, NT4.0, XP. An extensive software accurately and efficiently deals with both routine tasks and comprehensive evaluations. Export functions as tables in ASCII and Excel format as well as a graphic file output in the formats BMP, JPG, TIF, EMF etc. enable a cross-platform work.
