The Perkin-Elmer Plasma 400 ICP Emission Spectrometer combines the convenience and speed of ICP with simplicity of operation, exceptional reliability, and an attractively low price. Plasma 400’s free-running 40-MHz generator has no moving parts, providing enhanced reliability and simplified operation. Its unique design eliminates the need for most operator adjustments and simplifies ignition. Its compact size allows it to be installed on many existing workbenches, conserving precious laboratory space. Plasma 400 is controlled from a MS-DOS computer. Fill-in-the form screen displays and extensive use of prompting guide even the novice user through an analytical setup quickly and easily. Method development is simplified by the possibility to display, overlay, and store spectra. An EXEC(ute) mode allows methods to be performed exactly as originally developed. The load coil is cooled by the used argon gas eliminating the need for cooling water. Only a single exhaust vent is required.
