Photo diode array detection (PDA) can add a lot of useful information to the electropherogram. It creates spectra during the runs. This spectrum can be used to identify the peak, provided that a spectrum is available in the spectrum library. It is also very useful as a tool to determine peak purity. The spectrum can also be used to determine the optimal wavelength for the detection within one run. Like all PDA detectors, the PrinCE 100 and 700 series data are processed with special data acquisition software DAx-3D.

To be able to measure as sensitive as possible, it is necessary to have as much light as possible at the capillary. Therefore Prince Technologies has developed a special cell, where the light is passing a number of lenses to have a line of light in the length of the capillary, resulting in optimal sensitivity. The ease of use clamping ensures stability of the capillary inside the cell. This combination gives the high sensitive CE cell, which approaches the sensitivity of a stand alone UV/VIS detector.
