Sample preparation: Fusion |
The M series is a full size machine designed for high sample out put. The Phoenix uses a modular system of construction so that whether your analysis program calls for 60,000 or 1000 samples per annum there is a Phoenix model whose design has been optimised to do just that.
Operation. Samples are dissolved and mixed into a lithium borate flux at temperatures ranging from 800 to 1250 degrees Celsius. (Typical fusion temperature is 1050 degrees Celsius) This is done over oxygen-enriched flames using specially designed burners. The sample is automatically poured into pre-heated moulds. The moulds are then retracted over separate cooling jets for precise control of cooling
FEATURES: INDIVIDUAL BURNER SELECTION VARIABLE SPEED SWIRL ACTION FULLY REGULATED AIR COOLING (2 STAGE) RESET AT ANY TIME CAN BE USED AT HIGH ALTITUDE WITHOUT MODIFICATION SEPARATE MOULD HEATING AND TIMING CAN HEAT MOULDS UP TO 180GM AUTO-LOCK CRUCIBLE HOLDERS ADJUSTABLE POUR & MOULD DELAY INDIVIDUAL BURNER MANIFOLDS
APPLICATIONS
- Glass and ceramics industry. Bauxite/Alumina. Mineral sands industry. slag's, mattes sinters etc.
- The steel industry, analysing iron ores, blast furnace slags and even magnesites.
- Base metal (Pb, Zn, Cu, Ni) for the analysis of sulphides concentrates, Silicate University's and research organisation. The cement industry, analysing sand, limestone, kiln feed, clinker, milled meal etc..
- AFT machines have also been used to successfully fuse Ferro alloy powders.
