Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers
Features The S40 AAS is the smallest atomic absorption spectrophotometer in its class. It has been designed to work to full specification in just about any environment including outdoors. It is therefore the perfect instrument for both fundamental research as well as environmental applications. It is also the perfect answer to all Q.A. applications requiring fast accurate analysis with year round reliability. The instrument has been designed for automatic control of operating parameters therefor minimising the need for usual knobs and switches. This makes for easy and simple methodology no matter what the analytical programme is. Design The S40 AAS is not simply a conventional AAS but a multi- capability instrument able to meet the needs of any user and any application. Several modes of operation are possible including standard AA, AA with D2 back ground correction, AA with SR lamp background correction, flame emission as well as molecular absorption. Conventional absorption spectrophotometry is also possible. Hollow Cathode Lamps A wide range of high brightness, ultra stable hollow cathode lamps are available as standard. In addition a choice of Multi element lamps are also part of this unique range of inexpensive, high quality light sources. System Description. The S40 AAS has a photometric range of 0 to 2.5 ABS and an accuracy of 0.001 ABS @ 1 ABS. The unique monochromator provides a wavelength range of 190 to 900nm and a limiting resolution of just 0.01nm. More than enough for any AAS application. Sensitive optics including the diffraction grating are hard coated to ensure a very long life at high sensitivity a feature unique to the 202. A dedicated microprocessor is used to control safety features including N2O burner function, flame monitoring, pressure monitoring, fuel on/off and flame change over. Other safety features include a built in flash back arrester and power on operating diagnostics. The S40 AAS microprocessor also controls and measures actual wavelength to ensure the highest possible accuracy in addition to peak latching, slit control, lamp current and detector voltage. The operator has complete control of these parameters and can store all control data in memory Software
The S40 AAS comes as standard with its own unique pre-emptive, multi tasking Windows 95 AAS software with 32-bit precision. A GLP module ensures compatibility with modern laboratory practice. The software includes a service or self-diagnosis module ensuring simple after sales service procedures and care. In addition programmes are included to ensure extensive data processing facilities with many possibilities for calculation and report formatting.
The Technology The S40 AAS is a remarkable new multi purpose atomic absorption spectro photometer that makes use of the very latest microprocessor technology, providing a unique range of features never before available in such a compact instrument. These features include full control of monochromator parameters in addition to all photometric and flame safety requirements. The S40 AAS is supplied with powerful Windows 95 software able to satisfy just about any AAS flame application. Wide ranges of hollow cathode lamps are available including multi element lamps and all at budget prices. The instrument is rugged, compact and reliable and its specifications surpass those of many instruments costing three times as much. TheS40 AAS is ideal for all laboratory work including Q.A., research, routine analysis, on line applications and field work and if required is quite at home working from the back of a truck as a tool for environmental pollution, prospecting and many other uses.
The Model S40 AAS is the result of many years of experience in the development and manufacture of sophisticated optical instruments. The design allows the user to move easily through a wide choice of parameters always guided by the unique range of programmes incorporated into the Windows 95 software.
Both analysis and instrument parameters can be defined in software ensuring easy reporting procedures and user-friendly tuition. The model S40 AAS has no equal in terms of both price or performance.
