A SUPERB NEW RANGE OF INFRA RED AND NEAR INFRA REDFOURIER TRANSFORM SPECTROPHOTOMETERS
IntroductionThe S50-IR series of instruments are a new range of very high performance research grade infrared and near infrared spectrophotometers that incorporate the following features:
- High photometric accuracy
- A very wide wavelength range
- Excellent resolution
- Fast analytical times
- Low Cost
DescriptionThe S50-IR of FTIR and NIR spectrophotometers represent the "state of the art" in Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and employ a number of unique features that ensure research grade performance from a very compact foot print. The S50-IR measures just 58 X 51 X 30cm and is regarded as one of the most compact of all commercially available infrared spectrophotometers. Although small compared to other commercial instruments the design is light years ahead in optical design and in terms of the unique software and firmware used to significantly reduce overall analytical time & to enhance performance. The patented optical geometry is the simplest of all designs to date employing a patented double catseye optical system that compensates for errors caused by vibration and alignment. The S50-IR design is in fact a new type of optical geometry that is both rugged and self aligning , yet avoids the need for dynamic optical alignment.
In real terms this means that the instrument can be used by anyone anywhere and will operate reliably 365 days a year. In practice this also means that the instrument can be used in the research laboratory, in production control areas, in any university department and if required can also be used out in the field or in remote locations.
Our production programme now includes integrated systems for process and on line applications as well as fully portable instruments for use in the field. The S50-IR is therefore a very unique instrument incorporating most if not all the features you have ever wanted in FTIR and NIR instrumentation.
Information
Choose between 3 modelsS50-IR is a classic FTIR spectrophotometer designed to provide high performance over a wide wavelength range. The instrument features a large sample compartment that will accommodate all types of sampling accessory. It provides a KBr wavelength range of 7500 to 350cm-1 and variable resolution from 0.5cm-1 to 16cm-1. Excellent Windows platform multi programme software is provided as standard.
S50-2IR This model is similar to the S50-IR but comes with a resolution of 1.0 cm-1 to 16cm-1.
S50-3IR incorporates all of the superb features found in the model S50-IR. However this instrument is available with a validated metrological beam splitter providing a wavelength range of 4500 to 350cm-1. Both instruments have little or no competition in terms of price performance and come with a full range of accessories and options.
The Interferometer
The optical system employed is a self compensating double cats eye interferometer designed for use with a variety of beam splitters including near infrared. This configuration provides and ensures the highest possible optical throughput, significantly reducing overall analytical time for any given S:N ratio. Features include fast interferogram detection allowing complete spectra to be taken in just 0.3 - 2.5 seconds.
( depending on resolution ) . This feature allows multiple measurements to be made in a short time duration again improving S:N.
In addition to high speed data acquisition the design also provides very high resolution of 0.5cm-1 in a very compact space. The wavelength range is also impressive and the standard beam splitter provides a range of 7500 - 350cm-1. In addition an optional beam splitter is available for validated metrological applications with a range of 4500 to 350cm-1.
Our production programme now includes designing systems for process and at site applications as well as fully portable instruments for use in the field. Check our prices and you will find that the Anaspec range offers just about everything you have ever wanted in FTIR and FTNIR spectrophotometry and at very affordable prices.
The Sample CompartmentAs you will see the sample compartment is very large indeed and can accommodate all of the normal requirements relating to FTIR and NIR spectroscopy in addition to the full range of accessories supplied by specialist companies. This large and well thought out sample compartment has been designed from the outset to provide a universal optical mount suitable for all types of sample handling accessory and from all manufacturers . Users will therefor welcome the ability to use any and all existing accessories.
Horizontal ATR AccessoryThe high performance simple to use ATR accessory is available for all of those applications where this technique is a must. The optical window element is made from ZnSe and all optics are pre aligned. In use simply slide the accessory into the standard sample mount and it is ready for use. ATR is primarily intended for use with highly absorbing samples including both solids and liquids and especially aqueous samples or mulls. For liquid samples a flow type cell is available. Mulls and semi solids can be used simply by spreading the sample directly on to the window surface. Solids including films, powders or bulked materials can be applied directly to the window and compressed using a small clamp provided with each accessory.
Sample Handling Accessories for all applicationsHere are just a few
ATR , SPECULAR REFLECTION, DIFFUSE REFLECTION, DRIFT , PHOTO ACOUSTIC, LIQUID SAMPLING, HOT STAGES, COLD STAGES, SAMPLE DISPENSERS, GAS CELLS, GAS PURGE SYSTEMS, HYDRAULIC PRESSES, FILM MAKING KITS, SAMPLE GRINDERS, MICRO SAMPLING, HIGH PRESSURE, VARIABLE PATHLENGTH CELLS, DISPOSABLE MOUNTS, CRYSTAL POLISHING KITS, POLARISERS, REFLECTION OPTICS, INFRA RED WINDOW CRYSTALS, STANDARDS, FIBRE OPTIC PROBES, PLUS A LOT MORE
Air cooled ceramic high emission infrared sourceThe new IR source will not let you down, it does not cost $800 and it does not need changing frequently. It is truly unique in the sense that it provides high light intensity but uses very little power. The design achieves both excellent wavelength emission characteristics and very high optical stability. In fact it is probably the best long life trouble free infra red source on the market.
Desiccated and Sealed InterferometerMany infrared instruments require a continuous dry gas purge to minimise the effects of water vapour absorption. Our instruments employ a sealed and desiccated interferometer that ensures very high spectral integrity and very low levels of water vapour within the interferometer making it one of the driest instrument on the market.
Detector OptionsThe standard detector is a selected high sensitivity pyroelectric design providing excellent signal to noise for all but the most demanding applications. There are many applications in infrared spectroscopy where fast, high resolution analysis is required of highly absorbing materials and for these applications a number of detector options are available including cooled detectors.
Computer systems
There are no special computer requirements. The standard operating system operates under a Windows 95-98 platform. The computer can be ordered as a separate component with the instrument or the instrument can be interfaced to an existing computer providing it meets the minimum specifications as defined .
Software
Software is supplied on CD and provided with each system shipped. . The software includes features for all standard analytical requirements including manipulation of spectral data, instrument control, plot with preview on the screen, filing plus many others. Data input and output is possible in ASCII or JCAMP. Programmes include built in diagnostics
Fibre Optic ProbesWe have designed a wide range of probes employing unique silver halide optical fibres. In general this material offers several advantages relative to chalcogonide in that it provides better transmission, it has a wider wavelength range, it is non toxic, it is more flexible than chalcogonide and is less expensive. We do however recognise that many users have already standardised on chalcogonide and we therefore offer this material as a standard item. For NIR applications we provide a number of fibre probes to suit most requirements.
