The heart of this extremely compact femto second laser source from IMRA is a diode pumped mode locked Er fiber oscillator whose 1560 nm emission is amplified and then frequency doubled in a periodically poled LiNbO3 (PPLN) crystal. Apart from small dimensions 20 x 11 x 8 cm of the laser head high stability and user friendliness are extraordinary. Just turn it on and after 3 seconds the laser beam is available
Applications are:
Generation of THz radiation, 2-photo-fluorescence microscopy, seeding of Ti:sapphire femtosecond amplifiers.
