The Vial AutoSampler system offers convenient, cost-effective analysis
of pharmaceutical products in vials. This system, designed and used by
Pfizer, Inc., will automatically analyse 50 pre-loaded vials. Using
near-infrared (NIR) technology, sample analysis is rapid,
non-destructive, and requires no hazardous reagents. The Vial
AutoSampler system analyzes powdered samples in reflectance mode. A
sample carousel is loaded with up to 50 vials and placed in the
AutoSampler for unattended analysis. For continuous analysis, a second
carousel can be readied while the first is being analysed.
This
system is designed for quality control of incoming materials, as well
as quantification of constituents in finished products. Supplies of raw
material powders can be identified and qualified. Potency, excipient
levels, and moisture content can be determined directly through the
vials.
