THE CROATIAN PHARMACEUTICAL SOCIETY is a voluntary organization with
a membership of 1000, operating within five regional branches. The activities are carried
out by specialized sections. The most important objectives are:
- Promotion of professional and scientific work in the field of pharmacy,
- Organization of continual education for pharmacists through courses, symposia, conferences etc.,
- Participation in the development of university education programs,
- Cooperation with health authorities,
- Protection of pharmaceutical ethical principles,
- Representation of members in various subjects important for pharmaceutical
branch on a national and world-wide basis,
- Contribution towards publishing activities.
THE CROATIAN PHARMACEUTICAL SOCIETY edits:
- Acta Pharmaceutica, the scientific journal
in English, issued quarterly;
Acta Pharmaceutica
publishes original papers, review articles, preliminary and short
communiqués dealing with pharmacy and related sciences,
- Farmaceutski glasnik, the monthly review in Croatian
with summaries in English;
Farm. glas. contains scientific and professional articles,
health service news, legislative reforms concerning pharmacy, information
on various features of pharmacy, list of new drugs and calendar of
up-coming events in the field of pharmacy.
THE CROATIAN PHARMACEUTICAL SOCIETYis a regular member of:
- European Federation of Pharmaceutical Sciences (EUFEPS)
- International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP)
- European Forum of Pharmaceutical Associations and the World Health Organization (EuroPharm Forum)
The HFD highest prize is "Domac Medal" (founded in 1955), annually awarded to a member
in recognition of one's outstanding work and contributions to the progress
of pharmaceutical research.
