GNR Ltd was estabilished in 1984 in Milan and it was founded by Mario Gungui and Antonio Nigro. In the same year they took over OPTICA Ltd, one of the first and most well-known European companies in the field of Analytical Instrumentation.
An extensive development program according to the most advanced technologies leads, in the first year, to the development of a range of instruments which replaces obsolete equipment. The continuos effort kept for the 26 years of activity allowed the Company to reach a prominent place among the most important worldwide manufactures of optical emission spectromters.
In 2004 a balanced policy, meant to consolidate and diversify the production, led to the acquisition of ITAL STRUCTURES Ltd. Ital Structures was founded in 1966 and was specialised in the production of X-Ray Analytical Instruments. It was present on the main international markets, in research centres as well as in the metallurgic, chemical, pharmaceutical, electronic, environmental, and food industry. Later, two important shareholdings followed, in ORI Instruments Ltd, electronic design, and LASER POINT Ltd, laser instrumentation for making and Micromachining, plus XGlab Ltd, spinoff of Politecnico di Milano, specialized in the study and development of high tech detectors.
GNR ANALYTICAL INSTRUMENTS GROUP can rely on a well-established team of highly qualified researches and technicians, plus the cooperations with leading University Departments, which ensure a constantly updated technological growth.
GNR Ltd is present on the main international markets through an efficient and motivated technical and commercial network, able to provide customers with the best support for any requirement.
The Head Office is in Agrate Conturbia (Novara), near Lago Maggiore; 15 minutes from Malpensa Airport. It is located in a 12000 square metres site, of which 2400 square metres are built-up.
