Pharma Nord is a Danish pharmaceutical company which specializes in preventive medicine and nutrition. The company's raison d'ętre is the production and sale of scientifically well-founded dietary supplements, natural remedies and medicinal drugs. The company places much emphasis upon research involving its own products conducted by interested, independent researchers and upon an on-going examination of the relevant scientific literature. Pharma Nord is represented by subsidiaries in a number of European countries and is constantly expanding its horizons.

From the beginning it has been Pharma Nord's goal to offer a series of dietary supplements, natural remedies and medicinal drugs characterized by a superior degree of quality, bio-availability and efficacy. Not all dietary supplements are equally good. There are, for example, significant differences in the bio-availability of various versions of the same vitamin or trace element depending upon how they have been produced.

Pharma Nord strives to deliver the optimal formulation (composition) of a given preparation in order to ensure the greatest possible bio-availability and efficacy. This is accomplished in part through a comprehensive and careful study of the relevant research literature and in part through the company's own experiments with preparations and alternative formulations thereof.

Pharma Nord's research department cooperates with researchers from all over the world with regard to the development and testing of the company's products, and maintains a modern research library with electronic access to the relevant international bibliographical databases. The research department\'s own database provides author, subject and keyword access to a collection of over 5000 scientific articles.

Pharma Nord was founded in 1981 as a trading company but soon began itself to produce dietary supplements and, somewhat later, natural remedies and medicinal drugs. The company has received GMP ("Good Manufacturing Practice") certification as a producer of medicinal drugs from the Danish National Health Authority, which regularly inspects its production facilities. Production of all products is carried out in Vojens in southern Jutland while administrative and sales functions are accomplished at the headquarters in Vejle.

The company is 100 % Danish owned and managed by two persons who play an active role in its day-to-day operations: Administrative Director Eli Wallin and Technical Director Sven Moesgaard. There are approximately 300 employees in the entire concern, which, in addition to the Danish company, includes subsidiaries in Norway, Sweden, Finland, the United Kingdom, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and tha Baltic States. In addition, Pharma Nord is represented in Switzerland, Greece, Italy, Thailand, Slovakia, Israel, U.A.E, the Republic of South Africa and Thailand.
