Spectrometer ( Molec. ): UV/VIS/NIR
The spectrometers of the MCS 600 series can measure in UV (ultraviolet), VIS (visible) and NIR (near infrared) – resulting in a measuring range of 195nm - 2150nm. Systematic implementation of the modular construction that started with the MCS 500 family allows the integration of several spectrometer slots into one housing and enables one instrument to cover a wide measurement range using various spectral ranges of different spectrometer modules. As a result, this not only creates new areas of application, but also facilitates more price effective configurations. Particular emphasis was placed on simplifying and modernizing the housing system during development of the spectrometer slot and lamp cassettes. Connection using new standard interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, WLAN and RS 232 are well-suited to meet the increasing demands of the user. With the appropriate firmware, MCS 600 systems, for example, are capable of generating data without the use external computers and communicating directly with external PLCs. Photometry, noise and linearity of the polychromators have been further improved. These are the core of the spectrometer cassettes and are based on the familiar MCS and MMS polychromators and the new MCS CCD and PGS 1.7 units. All polychromators are extremely stable and can operate in typical process environments and making any adjustment to the spectrometer elements superfluous. New and highly stable light sources deliver another advantage for the system that represents the latest technological level in electronics and optics. They offer many possibilities and have the highest degree of flexibility for a wide range of applications.
