Plasma samples, cell extracts, almost any biological sample contains an amazing number of different compounds. The key to a successful analysis, most often by mass spectrometry tools is a separation that allows looking as deep as necessary. "Garbage in, garbage out" means that mass spec data can only be as good as the preceding separation allows. The Rheos HR (for High Resolution) package is the solution to complex bioanalytical separation problems.
The completely biocompatible system comprising of 2 Rheos 2200 quaternary pumps, a nano 10-port switching valve, precision flow splitter, S-AFM nano-flow meter and Janeiro-CNS maximises flexibility. The S-AFM is the tool needed for capillary-LC with flow rates of 50 nL/min-1.5 µL/min (5 µL/min with the AFM 5). In the normal configuration the flow range is 50-2000 µL/min. This means you can work with columns of 50 µm ID all the way up to 4.6 mm ID columns. The Janeiro-CNS software combines completely independent control of up to 3 pumps, switching valves and autosamplers with seamless integration into Thermo's Xcalibur.
