Sample preparation: Mills, Grinders |
The DM 200 disc mills are mainly used for batchwise preliminary and fine grinding of medium hard and hard- brittle substances for preparing samples for analysis. The robustness and preformance of the mills allow them to be used in technical training facilities and provide a larger amount of samples in serial testing.
Advantages
- simple operation
- reproducible grinding results by precise gap adjustment
- viewing window to monitor the gap width
- long lasting grinding tools by reversing motor rotation direction
- easy cleaning due to good accessibility of the grinding chamber
- 2-year warranty, CE marked
The feed product passes into the closed dust free grinding chamber via the fill hopper and is fed centrally between two vertically standing grinding discs. A moving grinding disc circles against a static one and holds the product. Pressure and shear action lead to the desired reduction effect. The progressively arranged teeth of the of the disc grinders ensure that the product is pre-crushed in the first instance and is then pushed to the outer area of the disc grinders by centrifugal force, where the fine grinding takes place. The ground sample leaves the grinding gap and is collected in a tray. The gap between the discs is continuously adjustable. It can be adjusted during operation over a scale of 0.1-20 mm and can be monitored through a viewing window. The maximum input grain size is around 20 mm edge length. The final fineness depends on the set gap between the grinding discs and on the individual fracture characteristics of the material to be ground. For special applications, also with regard to a heavy metal free grinding, grinding discs made of circonium oxide or tungsten carbide are available. The cleaning requirements are kept to a minimum by the fold-back grinding housing.
