The iPac laser is available for the three wavelength ranges most commonly used in laser-based analytics and metrology: violet (405-410 nm), red (633 nm) and near-infrared (780 and 785 nm). Due to the grating-stabilized external cavity design excellent spectral purity is achieved. Lasing is restricted to a narrow emission band (spectral linewidth < 1 MHz), and the background of amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) is suppressed by more than 50 dB. In combination with TOPTICA's proprietary Single Mode Control technology, an ultra-high long term frequency stability can be achieved (drift < 3 GHz over 100 hours). The laser output is a transversal single-mode (TEMoo) beam, focussable to a micrometer spot. Sophisticated thermal management guarantees a high pointing stability, additionally making the iPac an ideal source for fiber-coupled applications. The control electronics of the iPac are based on an integrated 16-bit microprocessor, regulating temperature and current of the diode laser. All relevant laser parameters can be set and monitored with a standard PC over the RS232 interface. High-sensitivity environmental and industrial measurement tasks can thus be performed rapidly, even via remote control. The microprocessor also keeps track of the mode properties of the laser and accomplishes the aforementioned active coherence control. The iPac consists of a laser head with integrated control electronics and a small external power supply. The separate power supply minimizes the impact of heat and electronic radiation on the laser head, resulting in a compact and robust laser device well suited to a variety of applications. For researchers and engineers in Raman spectroscopy, interferometry, environmental monitoring, drug screening or holography, TOPTICA's iPac provides an ideal solution.
