The double MSD system was designed to generate EI and PCI / NCI spectral information simultaneously.
A clear, concise and rapid analysis of targeted analyts was the aim of this unique double MSD / GC combination.

The system consists of:
- Gas Chromatograph HP 6890
- MSD HP 5973 EI
- MSD HP 5973 PCI / NCI
- JAS ultra-low-gradient transfer line or ultra-low-gradient dual transfer line
- UNICAP™ Capillary column connection interface
- Double MSD Bench
- JAS software for simultaneous data acquisition with HP ChemStation
The JAS Double MSD system provides the user with more information about his sample than ever before:
- Depending on what type of information one would like to obtain, a variety of possible combinations of ionization modes can be utilized.
- In addition, two similar sources can be combined with two columns ofdifferent polarity and a retention index library can be developed.
- For additional information either an IRD or AED or both can be added.
