Description
New South Wales Public Health Bulletin is a peer-reviewed journal produced by the Population Health Division of the NSW Department of Health since 1990. The Bulletin´s purpose is to enable the timely communication of information on public health issues and contribute to the development of a well-trained and informed public health workforce in NSW. The Bulletin aims to support public health action by:
- providing timely information from the surveillance of notifiable communicable diseases
- publishing peer-reviewed articles that describe the work of the NSW public health workforce
- showcasing innovative public health work
- promoting evidence-based public health practice
- reporting on general public health matters, such as major policy initiatives
- providing an historical record of communicable diseases in NSW
- fulfilling a workforce-development role by providing a peer-review forum through which public health workers can publish their work
Its core audience includes the public health workforce within NSW Health and throughout NSW. The Bulletin also has a public health readership throughout Australia and overseas.
