Final Regulation Order - Hexavalent Chromium Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) for Chrome Plating and Chromic Acid Anodizing Operations
This regulation shall apply to each chromium electroplating or chromic acid anodizing tank at facilities performing hard chromium electroplating, decorative chromium electroplating, or chromic acid anodizing.
This regulation shall not apply to process tanks associated with a chromium electroplating or chromic acid anodizing process, but in which neither chromium electroplating nor chromic acid anodizing is taking place. Examples of such tanks include, but are not limited to, rinse tanks, etching tanks, cleaning tanks. Tanks that contain a chromium solution, but in which no electrolytic process occurs, are not subject to this regulation. An example of such a tank is a chrome conversion coating tank where no electrical current is applied.
