Interests:
My research in the field of environmental analytical chemistry focuses on the biogeochemical cycling and speciation of trace elements in natural waters. I have developed portable analytical instrumentation using flow injection for field monitoring of environmental processes. In ACROSS, I am investigating the use of solid-phase adsorption resins to selectively preconcentrate organically and colloidal iron species in seawater. I am a member of the SCOR-IUPAC Working Group on the Certification of Iron in Seawater. I am also a joint Research Fellow with the Antarctic CRC where I focus my research on iron biogeochemistry in the Southern Ocean and its relationship to marine productivity.
