Interests:
Basic research on particle-water interaction in natural and anthropogenic environments. Particular emphasis is on the mechanisms of contaminant reactions, retardation, and immobilisation in sediments, contaminated soil or aquifer material on a microscale. Synchrotron radiation is the main analytical tool including XAFS and tomography, but also thermodynamic and lattice Boltzmann equation modeling.
Instrumentation:
Speciation of volatile organometalloid (Hg, Se, As, Sb, Bi, Te) components in water and air samples is performed with help of a cryo-trap GC-ICP-MS device.
