The aim of symposium is to allow the scientists from the world to get together and to discuss the present status and future perspectives concerned with the research on metals in biology.  In order to achieve the better understandings of roles, functions and regulation of metals in biological systems, it is highly expected to conduct metallomics research in cooperation with many scientists from a variety of fields, such as chemistry, physics, biology, medicine, and pharmacy, as well as nutrition/food/ environment/agriculture/toxicology/public hygiene etc.  It is also desired that metallomics will be developed in hyphenation and cooperation with genomics and proteomics, which may help to stimulate the progress of metallomics as comprehensive science for biological systems.
I hope to arrange an interesting scientific program and to organize the symposium that will stimulate information exchange and mutual cooperation of scientists who are interested in this newly emerging scientific field.

The contributed papers are invited for oral or poster presentation on the subjects within the scope of the symposium.  The program is consisted of the following scientific sessions which will be presented by oral presentation (plenary, keynote and invited lectures) and posterpresentation.  Your active participation to the symposium program is highly appreciated.

Scientific sessions:

  1. Metallomics research on; a) environment and metals, b) metallotoxicology, c) health and food/nutrition, d) plants and metals
  2. Hyphenated research on genomics/proteomics/ metellomics
  3. Advanced technologies for trace analysis
  4. Chemical speciation of bio-trace elements
  5. Bio-imaging andbio-sensing technologies
  6. Bioinorganic chemistry of metalloproteins and metalloenzymes
  7. Biological regulation of metals and their mechanisms of metabolism
  8. Drug design and chemotherapy of bioinorganic medicine
  9. Medical diagnosis of health and disease
  10. Development of standard reference materials for biological/clinical/ environmental analysis
