HTC-13 will run conjointly with the 3rd Symposium on Hyphenated Techniques for Sample Preparation (HTSP-3), because of the critical importance of sample preparation techniques in combination with chromatographic approaches and separation techniques in general. HTSP-3 will start 1 day before HTC-13 (on January 28th 2014) and both symposia will overlap on the Wednesday.

HTC-13 will cover all fundamental aspects, instrumental developments and applications of hyphenated chromatographic techniques. These include hyphenation between chromatography and detection systems (with focus on mass spectrometry), multi-column (multi-dimensional) chromatography, and the coupling between sample-preparation and separation techniques. Many aspects of chromatography will be addressed, including automation and robotization, miniaturization and microfabricated analytical devices, high-pressure and high-temperature LC, and new detection techniques.

For HTC-13 the terminology “Hyphenated Chromatographic Analyzers” has now been adapted to “Separation technology” to emphasize the importance of also non-chromatographic separation techniques and the hyphenation thereof to a multitude of detectors, online-assays, advanced data interpretation, etc.

HTC-13 will be covering both fundamental subjects as innovative applications based on the most innovative hyphenated techniques, which will be reflected in the 3 parallels sessions which will come to pass throughout the congress. An overview of the main topics which will be covered during this congress is given here:

  • Fundamental strategies forthe hyphenation of modern separation techniques with sample preparation and advanced detection systems.
  • Emerging detection strategies compatible with current separation techniques
  • The marriage of hyphenated techniques with process analytical technology
  • Applications in life sciences, including pharmaceutical analysis, biosystems research, and bio-analysis
  • Relevance in food science, including the analysis of contaminants and residues and of flavor and fragrances
  • Sustainable society, including environmental science
  • Clinical and/or Forensic applications
  • Chemometrics and data-analysis
  • Chemical and Petrochemical industry
  • New developments in column technology
  • Hyphenated techniques for Natural products, Flavors and Fragrance analysis
  • Applicability in Omics (metabolomics, proteomics, lipidomics, …)
  • Hyphenated techniques and polymers analysis.
