After a successfull meeting in Münster, September 4-7, 2007, the next TraceSpec 2009 will take place in Mainz. This event is one of the very few that is completely devoted to speciation analysis unifying research groups, scientists, interested users, legislators, industrial partners and other stakeholders from different domains.

It is the major objective of the workshop to highlight the value of the enhanced information provided by speciation analysis and to demonstrate and discuss how this information can be used to tackle real-world challenges related to chemical species. Participants are invited to submit contributions for presentations in English on topics within the scope of the workshop.

Session topics are:
  • Tools for speciation analysis
  • Environmental speciation analysis with a special focus on speciation in  atmospheric sciences
  • Speciation analysis in proteomics, metallomics and metabolomics
  • Speciation analysis for the food and health sector
  • Speciation analysis for the characterization of materials and industrial processes
