The conference is the continuation of a series of successful symposia focusing on various issues related to the presence and function of toxic or essential trace elements in food. The previous two TEF conferences were held in Rome (2008) and Aberdeen (2011) and attracted worldwide experts from different disciplines to present recent results and discuss all aspects of trace elements in relation to food, with special emphasis on the biological effects of trace elements.
