Established in 1990, the ISABC has taken place in nine different countries with previous meetings being held in Guangzhou (2013), Barcelona (2011), Debrecen (2009) and Naples (2006). Traditionally, the ISABC provides a platform for a maximum of personal interaction and scientific discussion between participants in an informal atmosphere. We intend to follow this tradition within the beautiful settings of the campus of NUI Galway in the West of Ireland.

ISABC13 will cover a wide range of topics in the field of Applied Bioinorganic Chemistry, including metal ion interactions with nucleic acids, metalloproteins, bioinspired catalysis, metals in medicine, bioorganometallic chemistry, metal ion toxicology and environmental aspects, metal ions and human diseases, metal ion sensors, and biomaterials. Moreover, the scheduled social and cultural events will provide an excellent opportunity to discover Irish culture, history, beautiful countryside and Ireland’s spectacular coastline.
