Environmental Chemistry
Environmental Chemistry is an exciting new journal addressing chemistry
of the environment. Articles address the fundamental chemistry behind
environmental issues and will appeal to all environmental researchers and policy
makers in academia, government and industry. Environmental Chemistry publishes manuscripts addressing the chemistry
of the environment (air, water, soil, sediments, space, and biota). The scope
encompasses atmospheric chemistry, (bio)geochemistry, marine and freshwater
chemistry, polar chemistry, fire chemistry, interstellar chemistry, soil
chemistry, climate change, chemical toxicology, and green chemistry. While
focussing on the publication of important new original research and timely
reviews, the journal also publishes essays and opinion pieces on issues of
importance to environmental scientists, such as policy and funding.
Manuscripts should address the fundamental chemistry behind these topics,
covering theoretical chemistry, analytical chemistry and methods, and surface
chemistry. Papers should be written in a style that is accessible to those
outside the field, as the readership will include - in addition to chemists -
biologists, toxicologists, soil scientists, and workers from government and
industrial institutions. All manuscripts are peer-reviewed and professionally
copy-edited.
The journal is published in print and online, online information being
updated more frequently and containing information on papers in press.
