Interests:
Chemical speciation of environmental solids, analytical spectroscopy, x-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy, method development for direct sampling and analysis of solids.

  • Quadrupole ICP-MS with Collision Cell Technology (PQ Excell, Thermo Instrument) equipped with a 266 nm Laser Ablation Unit (Microprobe II, Thermo Instrument)
  • Transversly heated GFAAS equipped with Zeeman Background Correction (Perkin Elmer)
  • Longitudinally heated GFAAS equipped with Deuterium Background Correction (Perkin Elmer)
  • LC-MS ion trap equipped with ESI and ACPI interface (Agilent Technologies)
  • CE (Capillary Electrophoresis) with Photo-Diode Array UV-Vis Detector that can be coupled to LC-MS (Agilent Technologies)
  • GC-MS ion trap (Varian)
  • HPLC with PhotoDiode Array UV-Vis Detector (Varian)
  • SEM/EDX (Scanning Electron Microscope with Energy Dispersive X-ray analyzer, made by LEO)
  • Energy Dispersive XRF (Phillips)
