  • The roles of magnesium and calcium in the regulation of enzyme activity, nucleic acid metabolism, and progress through the cell cycle, especially in relation to formation of the mitotic spindle and control of cell division.
  • Toxic effects of metallic elements in relation to chemical speciation.
  • Carcinogenicity of chemicals, especially the involvement of elements other than carbon and the effects of speciation on their bio-availability, carcinogenic activity, and detoxication.
