Interests:
Development of analytical methodologies for elemental speciation in environmental, food, and biological samples using hyphenated techniques (CE-ICP-MS, GC-ICP-MS, and HPLC-ICP-MS).
Development of analytical methodologies for the speciation of Arsenic applied to samples of nutritional and toxicological interest. This project is being carried out during the postdoctoral research stay at US. FDA on 2004.
Sample preparation studies for elemental speciation (Solid-phase microextraction (SPME), Ultrasound assisted extraction, etc.).
Development and application of separation-detection interfaces for CE-ICP-MS hyphenated technique.
Instrumentation:
The analytical techniques used for research on elemental speciation and total determination have involved a great variety of different instruments including, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, ES-ITMS, AAS, ETAAS, AFS, HPLC, GC, and CE. General instrumentation is also available at US. FDA.
