Description
Pharmacopeial Forum (PF) is the journal through which USP develops and revises USP–NF standards by a process of public review and comment. All changes and additions to the USP–NF are first proposed in the PF to invite public comment. PF provides guidance on how to submit comments and input. A summary of the comments received and USP's responses are also featured in the PF. PF is published once every two months, in print and online. New issues of PF are available in January, March, May, July, September, and November each year. PF features the following content: - In-Process Revisions
Proposed new USP–NF standards and revisions that USP is considering advancing to official status. - Pharmacopeial Previews
Early ideas for USP–NF revisions or additions affecting multiple products or requiring new technologies. - Briefings
Scientific rationale for proposed revisions, column brand names, and the USP staff liaisons handling the proposals. - Harmonization
Content and status of items that USP, as a member of the Pharmacopeial Discussion Group, is working to harmonize internationally. - Policies and Announcements
Publication deadlines, a USP staff directory with areas of expertise, guidelines on how to send comments and data to USP, and meeting summaries. - Other Sections
Articles by experts on standards development issues, new generic drug names, updated column brand names, and more.
