Mass spectrometer: General |
Designed for high sensitivity, reproducibility and reliability in high resolution applications.
The Autoconcept is a high performance mass spectrometer dedicated to the analysis of organic materials to provide accurate mass information. The instrument features a horizontal, E-B geometry mounted on a solid framework with a three point anti-vibration support system, resulting in a highly stable instrument capable of achieving ultimate detection levels in a reproducible and consistent manner.
The Autoconcept is a double focussing high resolution magnetic sector mass spectrometer designed to produce high quality data in a wide range of applications.
The strengths of the system are that it offers:
- Highly reproducible results
- Low detection levels
- Ease of use
- Ultra high performance
As with all mass spectrometry instruments, focussing lenses are only required to redirect the ion beam to maintain maximum sensitivity and resolution. A "perfect" mass spectrometer would have no lenses at all. Due to the proven ion optical design, the Autoconcept has the fewest lenses of any commercially available magnetic sector system for a similar specification. This allows it to produce ultra high perfromance (resolution >80,000 using 10% valley definition) as well as allowing a true Autotune for both sensitivity and resolution.
SourcesThe simple, yet highly effective source design, allows very low detection levels of compounds such as Dioxins, furans and other POP's. The source is easily exchanged when necessary and the heating (essential for many types of samples) design ensures there are no cold spots on the source. Similarly the source can be kept at low temperatures, for example in the analysis of Toxaphenes. When necessary the source is easily cleaned - no complex lens systems to dismount. The system is self aligning on preset dowels to ensure that it always goes back in the correct position.
The use of turbomolecular pumps allows fast pumpdown times and ensures there is no chemical background from diffusion pump oil, ensuring excellent long term performance and greater operating time.
The system can be integrated with the Agilent GC (6890) and variety of Autosamplers (HP7683 or CTC) with control through the MACH 3Xe data system.
The data system supports all the major Dioxin and Furan protocols, including EN-1948 and EPA-1613. Summary
1. Simple yet high performance optics 2. Full instrument control through the MACH 3Xe software 3. Ultra high resolution (>80,000) 4. Wide dynamic range 5. Accessory control (GC, Autosamplers, AGHIS) 6. Turbopumps ensuring no oil background 7. High sensitivity
Metastable analysis is now standard enabling the high selectivity techniques for complex mixture analysis that require such facilities.
