Robust, hand-held EDXRF analyzer for the measurement of heavy metals in soilAn ideal analyzer for effective identification and analysis of polluting elements in soil
Oxford Instruments has launched the new X-MET3000TXS - a fast, lightweight X-ray tube based soil analyzer, designed specifically for measuring heavy metals in soil – offering accurate and reliable identification of pollutant metals and fast analysis of their concentrations.
The X-MET3000TXS quickly identifies these polluting heavy metals on-site and defines the limits of “hotspots” to speed up soil removal and remediation work. It can be used for both pre-screening of polluting elements and hot spots, for follow-up during clean up – and if required, for higher level analysis in the laboratory.
All the required heavy elements in soil are detected simultaneously – such as Pb, As, Cr, Cu, Zn, Ni, Cd, Co, Se, Mo, Hg, Sb, Ag and Ba with low detection limits.
Typically, one measurement takes 15-120 seconds depending on the elements of interest and accuracy required.
Results are immediately available, ensuring valuable time is spent on analysis, not waiting for lab results. Measurement data is easily transferred to a PC wirelessly for further inspection and report generation. X-MET3000TXS is compliant with US EPA Method 6200, which is the standard method for field portable XRF analysis.
Quick and easy measurements - outdoor or indoorMeasurement itself is easy - just point the probe at the sample (field measure-ment) or place the sample bag on the holder (field lab measurements), pull the trigger and read the result. No prior information about the sample composition is required. The spectrum obtained from the sample helps in the immediate tracking of those elements present in a contaminated soil. All additional analysis work can be concentrated on the essential contaminates.
Analysis can be performed on solids, powders, liquids, air particulates on filter papers, wipe test swabs, equipment surfaces, coatings, vegetation.
