HyperDSC™ is the only true fastscan DSC technique, with scanning rates of up to 500°C/minute. The technique allows you to obtain additional, often crucial information, in seconds rather than minutes and is only available on the Diamond DSC from PerkinElmer.
Many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical and polymer R&D laboratories have adopted the technique because of it’s ability to provide information that previously may have gone undetected, resulting in billions of dollars of lost revenue.

- In addition to increased sensitivity, HyperDSC offers many benefits including:
- the ability to analyze materials without change such as annealing, re-organization and re-crystallization, incidences that are typically induced at slow scanning rates and that frequently lead to misinterpretation of results and sample properties
- HyperDSC experiments are fast—up to 20 times faster for higher throughput.
- HyperDSC is simple, without complicated math or calibration required, so anyone with basic DSC skills can perform HyperDSC experiments.
Applications:
The HyperDSC technique makes it easier to study polymorphism in pharmaceuticals and realistically simulate polymer processing conditions in injection molding that were previously complicated with conventional DSC. In addition, scientists are also exploring the use of HyperDSC in protein analyses.
